"Mamula Moon" by Felix Mendelssohn

One day I walked along
A moonlit island shore
And soon I heard a song
I never heard before

I said who can it be
To sing so tenderly
And saw a dust he made
With lonely serenade

Mamula moon
Shine high above the southern sea
And like my love
Say form again to me

We said goodbye
Beside the blue lagoon
Alone am I
With you mamula moon

I waved my hand
The grey ship sailed across the bay
On golden sand
That might I melt to pray

That I might see
My love returning soon
Still true to me
And you mamula moon

It's amazing how much this song which was recorded 10 years before our country got independence sounds so much like Negaraku, our national anthem.

Mohd Zain Sahadan, who owned the record for more than 10 years without realizing the significance of its content, said that he believed the record dated back to the 1940s as the record showed the name of song, the artiste and also indicated that it was made in England, but there was no mention of the year it was released.

After confirming it from a few websites, Felix Mendelssohn and his Hawaiian Serenaders were the artistes in the 1940s. This Mendelssohn should not be confused with the 19th century German composer and pianist Felix Mendelssohn.

and now... Have we paid the royalty for this song? Will Felix Mendelssohn sue Malaysian government for copyrighted material? Are we really a "pirated" nation, somehow?

Terang Bulan (Indonesian song by the same name)

Terang bulan
Terang bulan di kali
Buaya timbul disangkalah mati
Jangan percaya mulutlah lelaki
Berani sumpah 'tapi takut mati
Jangan percaya mulutlah lelaki
Berani sumpah 'tapi takut mati

Waktu potong padi di tengah sawah
Sambil bernyanyi riuh rendah
Memotong padi semua orang
Sedari pagi sampai petang

Waktu potong padi di tengah sawah
Sambil bernyanyi riuh rendah
Bersenang hati sambil bersuka
Tolonglah kami bersama sama

or... maybe Indonesian government going to sue us?

Terang Bulan

Dilanjutkan, Allah usianya Sultan,
Adil dan murah, memerintah watan,
Ditaati rakyat kiri dan kanan,
Iman yang soleh Allah kurniakan,
Allah berkati Perak Ridzuan,
Allah selamatkan negeri dan Sultan.

haha... Perak state government definitely won't sue the federal government.

Negaraku

Negaraku,
Tanah tumpahnya darahku,
Rakyat hidup bersatu dan maju.
Rahmat bahagia (pronounced bah'gia)
Tuhan kurniakan,
Raja kita selamat bertakhta
Rahmat bahagia
Tuhan kurniakan,
Raja kita selamat bertakhta

and... the final "original" version of national anthem, that you can't amend. Don't ever think of it.

Yeah! Malaysian government has the right to amend any song and make it official, after that you can't amend it anymore! It's final!

i guess you will always find something/anything or someone's mistakes (or your so-call) just to show how much you hate something/anything/anyone.try to think positive.
